Boyish matters

wearing: shoes-le chateau, jeans-mavi boy jeans, shirt-aritzia, hat-roots.
Wearing mostly my brand new purchases from Boxing Day. I was sooo excited when I found these boy jeans that actually fit. I had spent months looking for the perfect pair with the perfect amount of saggyness in the butt. It was so un-called for that I found these at Warrens. (a store that carries mainly very hanus clothing.) I'm hoping that I'll be able to hit up another day of great sales but because of the bus strike....i doubt it. Good news! I'm headed off to Montreal tomorow! Definatly very, very pumped.
Happy shopping!
Ciao,
-Alice

Inspired

Spent most of my christmas testing out my new love as well as touching up my illustration for my latest art project. I aws very inspired by Igor+Andre blog. I love his style of illustration, I couldn't help but to try it out! Although mine are no where to comparable to his, I gave it a shot.
Yours truly,
-Alice

A very MERRY christmas indeed.

floral scarf-vintage, shirt-AA, pleather skirt- AA, finge heels-le chateau
The camera that I've been craving for has finally appeared under my christmas tree! Thank you Santa! Although not the Nikon D60 that I dreamed about, it is a very nice camera. I am thoroughly satisfied. I can finally actually put up posts on my very ignored blog. The shoes were a christmas present to myself for being such a good girl this year. I found them a couple days before christmas at le chateau. I do admit that I occasionally did put in the snide remark at those who bought shoes from that store but I fell in love with these fringe heels.
Hope you all have a great christmas!
Cheers,
-Alice

Where.The.Wild.Things.Are

So my painting is finally up and about. There you see it: three months of my life. For clarification, this was a school project. I'm in the visual arts program and for our assignment, we had to create a 3 panel painting that protrayed experimental tactics. What inspired me for this painting was actually a quote by Coco Chanel: Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. If you can't tell in the pictures, there are animals coming out from the clothing. (Ex: minks morphing out of the fur jacket) I think that a lot of the time, people should look beyond the actual materialistic aspect of clothing. There is so much more that goes into the garment then most people will see. Two of my panels were inspired by Marc by Marc Jacob's ads and as for the third, inspired by Lula magazine.
As for what I'm wearing today: shorts-Aritzia, Shirt-American Eagle, Shoes-Dolce Vita.

Enjoy!

Changes

So basically i cut my hair. I'm pretty proud of myself because im usually an extremely indecisive person, cutting my hair by myself on impulse was a big step. My old hair was so utterly mundane. Nothing to it...just straight and side parted. BORING. I actually enjoy my hair quite a bit but don't think i'm going do anything too drastic for a while.

The.Perfect.Checkered.Crush

Shirt-aritzia, Skirt-Club Monaco, Shoes-Sam Edelman
Feeling completely inspired by the Marc by Marc Jacobs (he is a genius) Fall collection; over the weekend I bought the must adorable high waisted checkered skirt from Club monaco. Do you believe in love at first sight? Because I do now. It has pockets! and anybody who knows me knows that I do adore pockets. I don't usually have a lot of color in my pallet but this skirt really does brighten up my day. The best part about this particular purchase is that it was on sale for 99$. Although that may not sound like that great of a deal, for Club Monaco, it is!
P.S: sorry about the quality of the pictures. Need to get my own camera SOON! ( and Siobhan, thank you soo much for lending me yours) If anyone has any suggestions as to where I could get a good camera for a decent price? PLEASE tell me.

Welcome to my Wonderland.

One of my favorite photoshoots by Annie Leboivitz. She really does inspire me, her photographs are so beautifully taken but they're not quite your typical fashion spread, there's something beneath the photograph. I did think that it was quite appropriate because after all, my name is Alice. I do have to admit, I didn't quite like the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland but then again, I'm not quite a fan of Disney. Although I do find that there just something quirky and twisted about Alice in Wonderland that intrigues me. Well....Lewis Carol was on drugs when writing the novel.

marry me?

I am in awe over these 2 gorgeous pairs of shoes. The black pair are made from pony hair but unfortunately way out of my budget and as for the beige pair, I do believe they are more expensive(around 1000$) I've decided to save up at least that much so that I can afford at least one of these shoes. I'm not even joking but I would marry these shoes if I could.

Wildflower.

blazer: club Monaco, jeans: Jacob, shirt-Forever21

In a weird mood today; a little reckless even persay...whimsy? Unfortuatly school and work seem to be all I do these days. Jeeze. Planning on pulling an all-nighter tonight to work on my 3-panel painting. Ugh. I guess that means tons of instant coffee. Once my paintings finished, i promise that i will dedicate a post to it. After all, I have spent the last 3 months of my life working on it.

Frolicking Fringe.

Dress: Victoire, Shoes:Guess, Sunglasses: Milk.

Perhaps one of my most prized possessions; an AA dress with fringe sewn on the front, found from a boutique called Victoire. It's pretty funky isn't it? I love twirling about and seeing the fringe fly around me. Got up at 6: 30 this morning to go around my school taking pictures with a dear friend, Julia. Lucky us, the weather was great. (for Ottawa at least)

Crown of Love

Thought I'd share a bit of my halloween with everyone. After many days of thought and debate, i finally decided on a costume. Although not too original, I did think it was quite pretty. The French connection dress i wore was found collecting dust at the back of my closet. I love the band of gold sequins and it's goddess like style. Plucked the vine from my mother's awful plants and voila: a greek god is born.

androgynous chic

blue oxford-vintage, leggings-aritzia, skirt-aa, boots-vintage

Snow...how depressing; after all it is only october. What better way is there to perk up the day than my feel good oxford button down. It seems like these days it's all about the androgynous look. Girls in boy's clothing. What makes me feel even better is that my oxford was only 4$ while, they sell practically the same shirt at AA for 50$. I say, what a deal. Cheap and chic.
The drafty winds call for a nice relaxing snooze in front of my fire place and what would that be without a nice hot cup of hot chocolate?
