With Friends like these, who needs enemies?

HEEY guys!

I just finished up this illustration last night for my last art assignment. It's a couple weeks late but my art teachers are pretty air-headed so I'm hoping that they might not notice...
I took inspiration from Chanel Iman from the last issue of Lula. I think she's sooo cute and I just found out that shes half korean-which i think is just super cool.

There's your Trouble

Heey Gals
I'm been sorta missing in action for the past three months. I really have no excuse for my lack of posting except for the fact that I was in China for a month and that grade 12 is pretty stressful. I know-these are horrible excuses. I can't promise diligent posting but I'm going to try my best. Instead of making this so much a fashion blog, I think I'm going to put more posts about my art instead. These photos are from a photoshoot my friend Julia and I did for our school's fashion show. It may look nice and warm in the pictures but in reality it was FREEZING cold. I was definatly hopping around the yard inbetween pictures to warm up.
Have an awesome week!

Seeing all of these celebs biking around has really inspired me to do some biking of my own.
Hopefully you girlies are all enjoying the sunshine!

Splash of Color

Heyy girlies,

I've been painting some more lately and I have been experimenting with different styles of painting. I usually stick to a pretty realistic style but the other day, it suddenly occured to me: why not try something totally different?! That is how this painting was created and I hope you guys like it!

Sailor girl.

Wearing: shoes-Guess, short-Aritzia, shirt-AA, bow-Young Janes

So I have finally made an outfit post after about a million years.
My sailor shorts are one of my favorite purchases of all time. I wear them all the time and they pretty much go with everything. I'm pretty exhausted for a day of running errands so I'm going to head off and go tanning...maybe... or I'll just settle for watching some re-runs of Gilmore girls.
They never get old.

Have a greaat day!

Gemma Ward

I painted this picture of Gemma Ward the other day and I really liked how it turned out. I'm still not sure how to scan in my pictures so I'm resorting to taking pictures of them on my camera; this picture doesn't quite do the painting justice but it's the best I have. I tried using thick layers of paint instead of my usual blended style. I think that I've posted more art posts than outfit posts lately...but I promise to make an outfit post soon!

Work In Progress

I just started this sketch today and I'm not quite finished yet. I usually don't end up finishing artwork so I thought that I might as well post it today instead of never.

100% Cotton

I've noticed that my wardrobe is severely lacking in summer clothing. I have piles and piles of jeans, sweaters and just generally winter-esque clothing but absolutly nothing summer-y. I "googled" some inspiration for my summer wardrobe and came across Kirsten Dunst. I really like her care-free style. It's summer and I am definatly not in the mood to put in too much effort. As a solution, I have decided to stock up on sheer white cotton t-shirts and tons of cut-off denim shorts because let's be serious, a girl can't own enough pairs of cut-offs. I'd also like to find some nice cotton frocks...hopefully...we'll see how that one works out in Ottawa. (I don't really have too much selection here.)

Cut

I've been feeling pretty angsty lately. Maybe it's my lack of motivation or just boredom, but regardless, I have decided that the solution to this will be a haircut. I've always wanted to dye my hair blonde but my friends have threatened to disown me from any up-coming hangouts if I went through with it...then i realized that it wasn't such a great idea. I've decided that I'm going to get it cut like little J from gossip girl. I still like my bangs and i think that the change of length will be enough to get me out of this rut. I haven't totally made up my mind yet but if you guys have any better suggestions, please let me know!

Enjoy the sunshine!

Once upon a Time

...there was a girl who lived in a dream. She believed the best in everything and everyone. Everything was sweet, lovely and just-so. It was perfect.
These are the photos for my photography project at school. My idea was based on the idea of dreams and in a sense a fantasy world. I still don't know which one I should hand in as my final so if you lovelies have any opinions, please leave a comment!

Spin me Around

Thank god! Only one more painful day of studying for my SATS and then they're over! Hopefully if all goes well, I can burn my practise book the size of a large dictionary and never have to look at it again. I don't think I've gotten a good sleep in about a week. So pumped to go out and not feel bad about enjoying myself. Sorry about the lack of outfit posts, I've been looking not my best lately with all this stress and last minute piles of homework.

Sketchbooking

I've been really focusing on my sketchbook these days. I don't really know why, I just feel really inspired lately and want to get out of my comfort zone a little. I don't usually like painting because paint just kind of gets everywhere. It always seems like it's where you don't want it and not where you want it. I fugured that if I practise a lot, I'm bound to get better...or at least that's what I hope.

A bientot,

Alice

Je t'aime

It is absolutely amazing outside. I decided to go all out with my florals. I even made myself a little daisy headband to celebrate the sunshine we've been getting lately. Unfortunatly my mood has been dampened by the thought of studying for the SATS that I have to take in less then a month. There are way too many distractions and I just can't seem to find the time to really study. Oh well, I guess I'll just wing it.

Pink Ponies

Tank: TNA, Skirt: AA, Pumps: BCBG, Scarf: Thrifted.
As promised, I have made a new post within 2 days! That is a big achievement for me, I might just go and treat myself with a little present...AA mesh dress? I've been wanting it for a while now but I'm desperately trying to find an occasion to where it to.
Hope all of you lovelies are enjoying the beautiful weather lately!

Floral Baby

Firstly, I would like to apoligize for my lack of posting for the the past two months. Yes, I am a slacker. From now on, I will try and post everyday or at least every 2 days. I have finally found a new job so I can actually afford new clothing. Today, I blew my first paycheck on a pair of amazing BCBG nude heels. I've been looking around for a pair of plain pumps for a while now and I have finally found them! These photos don't really do the heels justice but hopefully I'll be posting a better picture of these babies soon.
Hope ya'll had a great long weekend!
Yours truly,

Icon

Just recently model/designer, Erin Wasson has caught my eye. She is the perfect definition of grunge but with a bit of california-cool. Her signature cutoff shorts are on the top of my list for spring! For Spring '09, Wasson is launching a womenswear collection - Erin Wasson x RVCA - in collaboration with surf and skate lifestyle brand RVCA. So i'm definatly excited to check that out!

Have a Fabulous weekend!

Snow Queen

So my week has been peaceful and relaxing which just so happen to be two of my favorite words. I picked up the lastest issue of UK Vogue and was once again amazed by how much better it is then the American version. In particular, the editorial: Snow Queen, caught my eye. The photos were so enchanting and mesmerizing. They seemed to take you to an entirely different universe. It's not even the clothing that I notice, it's more the set and cool color scheme. My two favorites are probably the one above and the one below. I have no clue why....but I absolutly love it!

Well I hope all you guys had a great March Break!

When I'm up, I can't get Down

I am so unbelievably pumped for March Break. There are only four more days to go and then I'm FREE to do whatever I want. This week, so far, I've been in such an amazing mood. It's not even that good things have been happening, everything just seems so much brighter. Maybe I'm just giddy from too much excitment about March Break. I've decided that this break, I'm going to do something productive with my life...maybe some volenteering, job searching, soul searching (haha), boy searching etc. Tonight, I've started my streak of "productive-ness" by altering a skirt and dress that I recently bought from Value Village. I hemmed the blue pencil skirt and I definatly think I'm going to wear it tomorow. It's definatly bright enough to fit my mood! As for the darker blue flouncy skirt, I cut the entire dress part of it off and shortened the skirt. It kinda reminds me of the miu miu skirts from last spring and the pattern of the skirt brings me back to the fall Luella collection. I'm not a very good sew-er but I thought I did a pretty good job with these 2 items. I also started a drawing that is part of a series that I'm going to complete over March Break as well. It was inspired from a photo of me and my friend, Siobhan. It's such a quirky picture, I couldn't let it pass by. I think I'm going to illustrate it with guache and markers. Hopefully you guys are just as excited for March Break and if not, I hope at least, my ranting has gotten you a little bit pumped!!

Blushing Red

I think i dreamt about these babies last night. There were millions of pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes falling from this sky, they grew on trees, and sprouted as wild flowers in fields. If only that actually happened... These are possible the most amazing shoes I have ever seen and I want them sooo badly...Unfortunatly they're just a "little" bit out of my budget...
Maybe if i dream really hard tonight, they'll appear under my pillow. I'm crossing my fingers!

LOVE,
Alice
